Becky and Steve Schenck were both born into families with a strong faith in God. They met in college and married in 1978. They had two children, a boy and a girl. But their lives took a tragic turn in 1994 when their son, Matthew, was killed in a car accident at the age of 16.
Becky and Steve were devastated by Matthew's death. They could not believe that God would allow such a thing to happen to them. They questioned their faith and wondered if they could ever be happy again.
But over time, Becky and Steve began to heal. They found comfort in their faith and in the support of their family and friends. They realized that God was still with them, even in their darkest hour.

In 1997, Becky and Steve founded the Matthew Schenck Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides support to families who have lost a child. The foundation has helped thousands of families to cope with their grief and to find hope for the future.
