Materials

  • 1 large cardboard box
  • 1 aluminum foil
  • 1 black construction paper
  • 1 clear plastic wrap
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 ruler
  • 1 pencil
  • 1 tape

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting a hole in the top of the cardboard box. The hole should be big enough to fit the aluminum foil.
  2. Cover the hole with the aluminum foil. Make sure the foil is smooth and tight.
  3. Line the inside of the box with the black construction paper. This will help to absorb the heat from the sun.
  4. Cover the inside of the box with the clear plastic wrap. This will help to trap the heat inside the box.
  5. Place the food you want to cook in the box.
  6. Close the box and place it in a sunny spot.
  7. Cook the food for several hours, or until it is done.

  • The larger the box, the more food you can cook.
  • Use a dark-colored box to absorb more heat.
  • Place the box in a sunny spot where it will receive direct sunlight.
